Pump Bay

This is where we operate the pump to supply our "hosereel" or " jets" with water. From here we can also fill up the water tank which is situated behind these controls.

The 5 main parts  of the Pump Bay are:

1. Throttle. We can control the speed of the engine from here which also increases or decreases the pressure from the deliveries.

2. Deliveries. We attach our hose to these then turn the wheel in the picture to give us water.

3. Foam controls. We now carry foam which we can mix inside the pump. We would use this on liquid fuel fires.

4. Collecting head.  This can be used to fill up our water tank with water or we can unscrew it and connect a large hose (suction hose) to it to put into a river or canal and use that as our source for water. Click here to see phtographs. This is useful when in rural areas where their are fewer hydrants.

5. Inlet. We can connect our hose to this to fill up with water from a hydrant.
