Course 2/2007 During the 12 week programme the young people experience different aspects of day to day life in the fire service. As instructors we are responsible for organizing visits to Fire Control, Handsworth Fire House and Birmingham International Airport Fire Station, together with demonstrations’ for Road Traffic Collisions (RTC). The visit to Birmingham International Airport Fire Station was very successful, the young people commented on how much they had enjoyed this experience. Course 2/2007 have participated in all aspects of the training programme including the organizing of our charity car wash, with money raised going to The Fire Service National Benevolent Fund (FSNBF) and Marie Curie Cancer Care. As a Firefighter you are sometimes required to climb various ladders, in this photograph you can see the young people getting to grips with a 6m ladder.
