Car Wash

The tragic events in America on September 11th stunned the world. Of the thousands who died in the attack 342 were known to be firefighters from the New York Fire Department. In the UK British firefighters held fund raising events and street collections in support of their American colleagues.

In common with other stations in the West Midlands Fire Service, Sheldon fire station held a charity car wash to raise money. The station has had a number of similar events before in support of local and national charities but this was one of special significance and there was no shortage of volunteers. The public turned out in force to support the event and £2,722.50 was raised on the day and a further £808.47 was donated by members of the public.
